What is an LRN probe?

The LRN probe is used to monitor the surrounding environment. The probe is wirelessly connected to the Smartbox via the LoRa protocol. During transport, the probe monitors the surrounding temperature, humidity, air pressure, light level, and also provides information about tilt, 3D orientation, and G-forces. All this data is sent to a server, allowing the user to monitor it in real time. Limits can also be set for transport, which the monitored values must not exceed. If these limits are exceeded, the system can react to the situation in a predefined way.

Programmable sensors

About the sensors in the probe

  • The LRN probe, housed in a standard USB flash drive-sized casing, provides a complete solution for wireless measurement and real-time monitoring of the surrounding environment.

  • It can gather data on ambient temperature, light, relative humidity, and air pressure. Additionally, it continuously monitors its tilt and orientation in 3D space. It sends messages about the initiation and termination of movement or impacts exceeding a predefined threshold.

  • The LRN is equipped with a primary NIS-traecable sensors for temperature and air relative humidity. Each NIS-traecable sensor has a unique serial number, allowing calibration documents to be obtained from the sensor manufacturer if needed.

  • To enhance measurement reliability, the LRN is equipped with a secondary, independent hardware sensor for temperature and air relative humidity.

  • Alarm thresholds can be set for temperature, light, tilt, and impact levels, beyond which the monitored parameter should not go. If these thresholds are exceeded, the system records the event, stores it, and subsequently sends it to a higher-level IoT server, which can respond as needed.

  • In case of detection of exceeding the threshold state, the LRN probe will attempt to immediately send a message to the IoT server, regardless of the programmed measurement period or packet accumulation.
